Middle School Audition Process

Step 1 — Review All Audition Information
Review the master document covering eligibility, registration procedures, the audition process, and professional responsibilities.
📁 ADB Audition Drive FolderStep 2 — Registration Materials Due November 23rd
⏰ All registration materials due to Laura Paquette at Hugo Owens Middle School by Monday, November 23rd at 3:30 PM. Payment via school or booster check payable to HUGO OWENS MIDDLE SCHOOL.
Mail to: Hugo Owens Band — Attn: Laura Paquette, 1997 Horseback Run, Chesapeake, VA 23323
The following must be submitted:
- Individual Student Registration Google Form (check your email for the link)
- Student Registration Forms
- A copy of your NAfME Card or a printed screenshot from the NAfME website verifying your active membership
- Payment via school or booster check
Step 3 — Prepare Students for Auditions
Review the audition etudes and requirements with your students.
📁 ADB Audition Drive FolderStudent Volunteers: One student volunteer per school is needed. They should arrive at Hickory Middle School for a volunteer meeting at 7:40 AM. Pizza will be provided. Please choose a student who is confident and can follow instructions.
Step 4 — Attendance Required
⚠️ All directors with participating students must attend the auditions until dismissed from the audition event. We need all hands to help make this a successful event.
Registration times will be communicated after the chair has reviewed the number of students auditioning. Watch your email for that information.
